Hard Rock Cowboy.
This Baja Outlaw 33 is one bad hombre with 12 speakers and 26 lights.
The expandable factory Clarion CD player can facilitate Sirius satellite radio,
an Apple iPod, 6-disc changer, hardwired remote controls or a radio frequency
remote control.
In
the cabin four Clarion 6 1/2–inch coaxils are driven
off a two-channel amplifier. The CD player’s fader adjusts
between cabin (front) and cockpit (rear).
<
Four separate blue LED clusters
are recessed up and under the drink holders to provide
safe passageway into the cabin at night. Before entering
the cabin, a switch at the helm controls the interior
courtesy lights.
Concealed
within an interior cabinet a JL Audio six-channel amplifier
drives the eight-speaker cockpit system.
Our birch amp rack is covered with a white plastic laminate.
The amp panel conceals all wiring.
Heavy two-gauge service is routed to a 150-amp DC breaker
before connecting to the battery.
We selected Polk MOMO speakers
because they look aggressive and sound great! Plus, the ‘silver’ MOMO
grills tie into this Baja’s ‘silver’ & ‘blue’ graphic
scheme. Each Polk 6 1/2-inch speaker features an angle-mount
tweeter to put you in the listening sweet spot. Also,
these MOMO integral component speakers boast outboard
crossover networks.
Each Polk speaker is mounted on a bolster ring that is clad
in Baja factory ‘blue’ vinyl. This treatment runs
consistent with appointments throughout the boat.
Four speakers collected at the front of the cockpit deliver
the necessary volume to be heard when cruising at high speeds.
Two rear speakers are directed
at the bench seat occupants. Given that each of the rear
speakers are located at the edge of the open combing
pockets, we added isolation bowls to acoustically seal
off the rear speakers. This serves to improve both the
midbass performance and the power handling.
Under the rear bench two
rear-firing Polk MOMO 10 - inch subwoofers are loaded
into sealed enclosures. These custom sub enclosures are
constructed from exterior-grade solvent-based stock versus
water-based material. The 3/4 - inch thick enclosures
are sealed with a rugged waterproof polyurethane coating.
The subs are elevated off the deck and mounted on polymer
pads.
The custom subwoofer grill was built from aluminum and powdercoated
in ‘silver’. The ‘silver’ grill is
trimmed in a ‘blue’ acrylic ring to run consistent
with the cosmetic scheme.
Four ‘blue’ LED step lights illuminate the cockpit’s
rear perimeter.
The interiors of both combing pockets are illuminated as
part of the courtesy light package.
Each combing pocket received three ‘blue’ LED
clusters. The hidden downcast lights are recessed above the
pockets.

The engine compartment vents
are equipped with watertight ‘blue’ LED D-tubes.
Each vent received a total of 48 ultra bright LEDs, which
are seen indirectly off of a reflective background. The
effect is magnified after dark.
When cruising at night a pair of LED strips flood the rear
spray with a blue hue.
A courtesy light switch at the helm controls the exterior
lighting package.
