| CONSTRUCTION |
|
|
HollowPoints massive mid-bass drivers
feature a carbon fiber woven cone. And unlike conventional automotive
or marine speakers these drivers are specifically designed for
the smaller displacement of tower pods. So you’re going to enjoy
some true mid-bass from these tower speakers. A horn-loaded
titanium compression tweeter is right out of the pro sound industry,
the stuff of rock concerts, and is the key to a balanced sound
that can really project at 80 feet behind your towboat. A multi-element
outboard passive crossover means a steeper slope which delivers
a smoother response and greater power handling for the tweeter.
You can’t beat the prestige and durability of spun-aluminum
pods. The original Bullet shape is perfectly symmetrical. The
fit and finish of these pods are unmatched. Polished top caps
offer a finished touch between the pod mounting flange and collar,
especially on side mount applications. All HollowPoint speakers
include internal damping (polyester fiber) within the pod. |

| SOUND QUALITY |
|
|
|
  
Sound doesn’t dissipate in a linear manner and certainly
not over extended distances. So HollowPoints are tuned for
the rider at 80 feet rather than in the boat or at the swimdeck.
Even though the objectives are loudness and projection over
high fidelity, you’ll find that the HollowPoints are much
smoother in their near field response as compared to many
other HLCD (horn loaded compression driver) products. You’ll
also enjoy stronger midbass performance from your HollowPoints.

| POWER REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
| If you’re going to get the full benefit
of your HollowPoint speakers you’ll need serious power. We recommend
four HollowPoints on a large two-channel amplifier. An honest
150 watts per channel is optimum for two pair of 6 1/2-inch,
while 250 watts per channel is ideal for two pair of the 7.7-inch
model. |

| COSMETIC |
|
|
|
If you want S.P.L. monsters on your tower it will be hard
to beat the clean appearance of Bullet HollowPoints. Streamlined
collars (from 1 5/8-inch to 2 7/8-inch) keep everything tight
against the tower. Aluminum pods come in chrome, black or
white. Plus, for a custom look we’ll powdercoat to match your
hull color. The HollowPoint spoked grills can deliver in chrome,
black, white or silver. You can match your pods, use a contrasting
scheme or match the speaker grills in the boat. You have endless
options in creating a custom look.

|
|
| APPLICATIONS |
|
|
If you own Bullet products now, Bullet
HollowPoint speakers will retrofit into many older Bullet pods
so you may not have to reinvest into new pods, collars or wings.
Bullet pods will direct mount to Malibu Illusion towers and
Mastercraft tower flanges without additional adapters. Bullet
pods will also collar mount to the outside of towers, such as
FourWinns and Crownline, in order to avoid conflicts with bimini
tops. Plus the staggered outside positioning looks great. And,
these same pods will mate up directly to combo and six-pack
wings.
On arched, radiused or leaning towers you can set the speaker
position after mounting the pods. This way the grill rotations
are always oriented correctly and uniform. Few tower speakers
give you this option. For big cruisers, polymer contour blocks
can adapt to curved arches and can even correct for the downward
angle at the rear of hardtops.
Plus, we have removable rail brackets and watertight deck plugs
so you can flood the bow deck of your cruiser with sound and
still remove the speakers without tools.
We find that cruiser owners generally want a conservative and
neutral appearance. All of these complimentary parts are available
in white to match the white pods and grills. Bullet and Earmark
offer many unique options for big boats. |
