This Eliminator Daytona 25 was special
ordered without a stereo so EARMARK could install a complete
Alpine package. |

|
Originally there were no openings, wiring or provisions for
a stereo so we started with a clean slate. |

|
An Alpine CD player
was placed in the center of the passenger’s console. The Alpine
player features triple preamp outputs and a changer input
for unlimited expansion capabilities.
Source options include an MP3 CD changer, XM or Sirius satellite
radio, iPod control, hardwired remote and more.
A water-resistant radio cover helps protect the CD player
against spray. |
 |
We fabricated a birch amp panel that was covered
in a marine carpet. The hidden panel provided mounting for a
two-channel Alpine amplifier, satellite radio tuner and satellite
tuner-to-Alpine Ai-net protocol adapter. The panel also provided
ample space to strain-relieve all wiring and cables. |
|
|
The
XM antenna was mounted forward and under the Lexan windshield.
The
antenna cable penetration is carefully concealed. In this case
we
used a
black antenna against a black background.
|

|
Dedicated
power cables ran to the engine compartment’s battery. All
cables were concealed in flexloom and neatly secured.
|

|
A
pair of Alpine marine coaxils were mounted into the open bow
pockets. The bow speakers are driven off the source unit’s
internal power.
|

|
We
installed a pair of Alpine coaxils at the front of the cockpit.
We terminated the vinyl edge on the vinyl-covered and padded
bolsters before installing the speakers which serves to protect
the vinyl against subsequent shrinking or pulling back from
the speaker opening.
|

|
At
the rear of the cockpit we installed a third pair of Alpine
coaxils in the combing pockets. Each pocket has a curved back
so we formed two white polymer rings that adapted the speakers
to the curvature. The concealed adapter rings provide an airtight
mounting surface. |
An Alpine two-channel amplifier
drives the four cockpit coaxils.
For upgrades to this base system you can opt for one or two
subwoofers plus a larger multi-channel amplifier.
