Full exterior audio with a few cockpit video upgrades.
The factory source unit features a hardwired remote control on the helm. The factory CD source unit fades from interior salon speakers to all the exterior amplified speakers.

In the galley cabinet next to the TV, we added a six-disc CD changer and controller. Just to the right of the controller we added a line-level volume control dedicated to the speakers over the bow deck.

In the very back corner cabinet we installed two four-channel amplifiers. Two channels run the stereo bow deck speakers. Two channels run the stereo aft deck speakers. Two channels run two pair of cockpit coaxils and two channels are bridged mono to drive a cockpit subwoofer. The varying impedance loads are distributed equally between the two amplifiers to balance out the power supply demands. In other words, the harder driven channels are combined with the lighter driven channels resulting in cool operating temperatures for both four-channel amplifiers. A four-gauge power service is run into the engine compartment directly to the domestic battery bank.

All electronics are concealed with little evidence of the additional components.

We upgraded the TV splitter to add a tap for a cockpit TV. Hidden behind the helm we added an antenna connector in a custom ABS panel and a shorting cover while the jack is unused. It was important to keep this connector small and discrete.

Clarion marine coaxils are located in each side of the arch to the rear of the elevated bridge.
Clarion marine coaxils added to the forward section of the bridge.
A Clarion 10-inch marine free-air subwoofer added to the starboard side combing of the bridge. 3⁄4-inch thick birch baffle rings were pre-set behind the fiberglass to provide a more rigid and acoustically damped mounting structure.
Since the starboard side coaxil (high-pass) and subwoofer (low-pass) play different bandwidths in the same cavity we installed an injection-molded isolation chamber behind the coaxil speaker. This procedure significantly improves the sonic performance throughout the bass and midrange region.
A pair of Clarion marine coaxils added to the lower aft deck.

A pair of water-resistant two-way white outdoor speakers are mounted under the brow and flood the bow deck with sound. They’re perfect for lying out on the bow deck pads whether you’re stargazing or sunbathing. These speakers have a dedicated volume control to adjust their output independently from the rest of the system.

Earmark performs many installation procedures specific to marine. For example every connection is soldered and covered with a heatshrink sleeve protecting it from corrosive effects. Gelcoat is treated against spider-cracks and fiberglass penetrations are dressed and sealed. Fine seams are filled with marine silicon beads to defend against the collection of watermarks and mineral stains. There are numerous other acoustic, aesthetic, electrical and structural steps engineered into our designs and installations that you won’t see from anyone else. We go to extremes to maintain the integrity of your boat.
