TECHNOVAN: CENTER CONSOLES

The Technovan’s front center console contains a CD player, processor display, processor controller, power window switches, cellphone, TV and DVD player.

Matching tan vinyl and tan carpet cover the majority of the enclosure. At the front of the console, a textured gray insert ties in with the factory instrument cluster.

A Brazilian rosewood insert caps the top of the console consistent with other wood appointments throughout the interior.

The rear center console contains a Nintendo Game Cube and controllers plus a remote controlled pneumatic-driven door that reveals and conceals a mobile fax.
The rear overhead console provides an overhead lighting system with multiple switching options including flood, left or right spot plus automatic or manual. A Brazilian rosewood insert is also used.

The front overhead console features an overhead lighting system, flush security microphone, various control switches, concealed radar detector, infrared headphone emitter and IR target.

1932 Ford Sedan

The trick on this car was to install a multi-media entertainment system that was easy to use, did not require modification of the dash and left a center console option.

The problem with 1930's and 1940's vehicles however, is the front floor board area where the pedals are located is very small and gets narrower the further forward you go. A traditional console that would go all the way to the floor board would intrude upon the minimal foot and gas pedal area.

The unique solution was designing an open back style center console with a 1-inch thick touch screen that didn't crowd the limited foot area.

Earmark custom built a center console to hold a Kenwood car portal with NAV, XM Sat, iPod and AM/FM. The console was painted by the same people who painted the car while the side inserts were done by us.
Window switches were mounted along with the hand made front kick panels that were accented with polished aluminum rings to match the interior.

Boston speakers were installed in the front and rear while the amps were mounted behind the rear seat.
