| GMC DENALI UNDER THE RADAR
This Denali was equipped with an undetectable front and rear
radar detector plus a front laser jammer. |
| STEALTH INSTALL |
 |
| Starting with the cockpit there is little
evidence that a laser/radar deterrent was added. In the above
photo, the alert lights are off and virtually undetectable.
We flush-mounted two red LEDs to the interior lower
sides of the instrument clusters sun shroud. The LEDs
provide a visual alert of the presence and location of a radar
and/or laser source.
The separate left and right LEDs work in unison with
separate quarter-sized piezo buzzers that are recessed and
mounted within the left and center air conditioning ducts.
The left audio/visual alert set indicates the presence of
a forward threat while the right audio/visual alert set warns
you of a rear threat. |
 |
In this photo, you can see the illuminated LEDs
in the lower left and right corners of the instrument cluster
shroud. |
 |
 |
| In an empty panel next to the AC control,
we installed a dual concentric control and a status LED.
A single control unit features an on/off knob plus inner
and outer controls. One control allows you to select sensitivity
for either city or highway driving while the other control
allows you to vary the volume of the two piezo buzzers.
Depending on the vehicle owners preference, we can
position the controls in a totally concealed location while
the dash or console may offer the most access convenience.
The dual color LED status indicator displays yellow when
in the city mode and green for the highway mode. |

With the front grill removed, the radar receiver and laser
detector/jammer are exposed. The radar receiver is mounted
just under the latch mechanism via two drop down brackets
and a 1/4-inch thick polymer plate. This radar collector bell
and sensor can be mounted behind any non-metallic material
such as plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber that will allow
the uninhibited passage of high-band radio frequencies.
The laser device is mounted to the top of the front bumper
and fits neatly between the bumper and grill. The laser detector/jammer
functions in a band that must have a clear and totally unobstructed
view of the road ahead in order to detect and defuse the laser
light beam.

The rear radar receiver enclosure is concealed behind the
plastic trim of the rear bumper. A custom-fabricated polymer
mount bridges the frame and chassis so that the receiver has
a flat and secure mounting platform. |
